Stretching and their benefits

In all kinds of physical training Elongation is included as a fundamental part and allows people to reach higher levels of performance. In this way they can reach high performance, if they follow a routine according to elite training. It also allows people to achieve high performance with their body, gaining attributes such as responsiveness, agility and other factors for the performance of other sports, whether of strength or bodybuilding.

In all cases, it is always advised that people warm up before starting the activity. This, depending on the discipline, includes mobility stretches of most of the muscles, especially those that you will use the most in the training process. At the end of the activity it is recommended that you stretch again but in a more passive way, not as dynamic as it was at the beginning of the training.

Stretching is made up of different exercises and can be separated by muscle groups. It varies depending on the sport that is practiced.

There are 2 types of elongation: dynamic and static. Dynamics It is the one used before starting any activity because it prepares the muscles for the ranges of movement that said activity will have and the static it is what it is gradual and progressive, stretching the muscles for a period of 20 to 30 seconds. What is sought here is to enter a period of calm not over demanding the muscle, much less insisting.

Elongation in general does not require much effort, this is because in dynamics you prepare the muscle for exercise and in static you relax it so that it has a better recovery after exercise. It is very different to speak of flexibility that is worked there in a more demanding way.

After training, elongation helps the muscles not remain in a state of tension and thus the next day or the next training session you do not have muscle problems and they recover in the best way.

Elongation benefits

  • optimize the learning of some movements related to sport,
  • decrease the risk of injury (especially from muscle strains and tears)
  • dramatically reduce back problems,
  • reduce muscle problems derived from overloads due to excessive training,
  • decrease the muscle tension necessary to perform movements,
  • increase physical and mental relaxation.
